February 23, 2007 -- The ArtixScanDI 2020 garnered high praise from PC World in the magazine's February 19 review of document imaging scanners, earning top marks for scanning speed and overall good ratings for its feature set, usability, and design.
The review by the magazine's Richard Jantz also said that the ArtixScanDI 2020 offered "more speed and productivity potential" than the four other scanners tested in the roundup, making the 600-dpi USB Microtek scanner a solid contender for paper-intensive offices and environments.
The DI 2020's "most impressive" feature is "its incredibly fast performance," said PC World, putting out the fastest time as it scanned a single-sided color page at 300 dpi in 11.5 seconds. The DI 2020 was the second fastest in the field when scanning a double-sided, 15-sheet monochrome document.
The magazine also commented favorably on the scanner's attached 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), pointing out that its ADF has twice the capacity of ADFs on the other models being tested.
More importantly, the DI 2020's ADF "flawlessly scanned both single- and double-sided documents with no misfeeds or paper jams," it noted.
In additional remarks, Jantz had good words for the Microtek ScanWizard DI, the scanner software for the DI 2020, saying it features a "nice assortment of basic and advanced controls."
All told, the "impressive speed" and large-capacity ADF of the ArtixScanDI 2020 "make it an excellent choice for high-volume document imaging," the review concluded.
